MANILA, Philippines — Free rides await students 18 years old and below at Manila Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) during select hours on Monday in celebration of National Children’s Month.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said in an advisory that free train rides will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. only.
Students only need to present a valid school ID to the station security personnel to avail of the free ride.
(The entire MRT-3 line is joining in the celebration of National Children’s Month this November. May our free ride make our young people feel our admiration and appreciation for their talents and skills, which will be the foundation of our prosperous nation.)
The DOTr said MRT-3’s free ride for students 18 years and below was its response to a request from the National Council for the Welfare of Children in connection with the Children’s Month celebration, and its way of paying tribute to Filipino children.
