Award winning hiplife artist, Andrew Nii Commey Otoo, better known by his stage name Mr. Drew, has finally revealed the reason behind his bald head.
On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, during an interview with media personalities Cookie Tee and Naa Ashokor on TV3’s Newday show, the “Case” hitmaker revealed that he purposefully shaves all of the hair on his head because his hairline is receding and that he also dislikes his “V shape.”
Mr. Drew is also well-known for his perfectly shaven oval-shaped head, which looks amazing when he wears spectacles. Nonetheless, the majority of Ghanaians are unaware of his previous hairstyle because it was given before he shot to prominence, which is why he had some hair before going clean-shaven, also known as “sakora” or “santo.”
As of right now, Mr. Drew is one of Ghana’s top musicians. He is an Afrobeats musician who gained popularity after his song “Let me know” went viral.
”So my hairline is receding and I don’t like the V shape, so I just shaved everything. If you are not nice you cannot rock a bald head,” he stated.
More amazing songs have been released by him, such as “This Year,” which he collaborated on with Ghanaian rapper and businessman Medikal, “Shuperu,” which features Kidi, a signee of Lynx Entertainment, and “Later,” which features reggae-dancehall artist Kelvyn Boy, among others.
Mr Drew started off as a dancer when he was in senior high school before later switching to become a musician full time.
His career officially started when he joined and became the first runner-up at the MTN Hitmaker Season 6 in 2017.
After the MTN Hitmaker Mr Drew was signed to Highly Spiritual Music founded my music producer and engineer Kaywa.
He however parted ways with the label after working together for five (5) years due to unfavorable terms and conditions in the contract later discovered.
For showing gratitude to Kaywa’s Highly Spiritual Music, the award winning artist decided to relinquish his royalties to his former label boss, Kaywa.
Mr Drew released his debut album in 2021 named ALPHA, the album featured names like Victor AD, Seyi Shay, Kwabena Kwabena, Kelvyn Boy, Raybekah, and KiDi.
