A major evacuation was declared at a packed Perth shopping centre.

Emergency crews investigated the scene at Westfield Karrinyup in north Perth as crowds of people out for a Friday night at bars, restaurants and Hoyts cinemas were ordered to leave at about 8pm.

The evacuation was triggered by a structure fire, the West Australian reports.

One disappointed Taylor Swift fan said they were ordered to leave halfway through the Australian premiere of star’s new movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

‘Was watching the Era’s Tour movie then suddenly there was a short circuit in the shopping centre so we were made to evacuate the building, just when she was playing my favourite song,’ she wrote.

‘Life is always unfair guys.’

Another fan posted a photo of the Swift fans streaming out of the cinema and joked they were ‘not impressed when told to shake it off’.

Four sessions of the film were being shown at the Hoyts Cinema when fans were told to evacuate.

Fire crews from Duncraig, Osborne Park and Peel as well as WA Police officers attended the scene.
