New documents show the couple’s split is now official after being signed off by the court, Page Six reports.
They will share joint legal and physical custody of their four-year-old daughter, Echo.
Brin filed for divorce from his wife of four years in January 2022, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ in court papers, which stated the pair had been separated since December 2021.

The world’s seventh richest man, who is worth $93 billion, secretly wed Shanahan in November 2018.
Brin and Shanahan were intent on keeping the details of their divorce hidden from the public, saying the tech mogul’s status as ‘one of the wealthiest and most famous technology entrepreneurs in the world’ as being behind the need for privacy.
Shanahan did not contest the divorce at the time.
All financial issues have been kept confidential however it was initially reported Brin did not ask Shanahan for spousal support and requested that she do not receive any from him in the future, however Shanahan did request spousal support.
She has been granted ‘non-guideline’ child support, however the amount has been sealed.
Rumors swirled their separation was linked to claims that Shanahan had an affair with Musk in December 2021 at Art Basel, a multi-day art event in Miami, however both strongly denied the accusations.
‘This is total bs,’ Musk tweeted in response to the claims. ‘Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night.
‘I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around,’ he continued. ‘Nothing romantic.’
Art Basel took place in Miami last year between December 2nd and December 4th 2021.
According to the Journal’s sources, Shanahan and Brin were already having marital problems because of the stress of COVID-19.
Editors there have refused to retract it and say they stand by their claims which reportedly brought an abrupt end to Musk and Brin’s years-long friendship.
Shanahan later spoke out about how the allegations of an affair rocked her.
‘My career has been based on academic and intellectual credibility, and I was being shamed internationally for being a cheater,’ she said.
‘To be known because of a sexual act is one of the most humiliating things . . . it was utterly debilitating.’
Addressing the alleged affair, she said: ‘Did Elon and I have sex, like it was a moment of passion, and then it was over? No.
‘Did we have a romantic relationship? No. We didn’t have an affair.’
Instead, she claims that her and Musk were having a deep meaningful conversation about her daughter’s autism.
According to Shanahan, they spoke about: ‘How I might think about helping my daughter with her autism treatment, given his background with Neuralink.

‘To be painted with such a massive scarlet letter for it just seems so unfair.’
Shanahan claimed that she knew who the ‘sources’ were who said she was having an affair, and added: ‘I forgive you, and I’m moving on.’
Shanahan she started attending the University of Puget Sound in 2003, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and Mandarin Chinese, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She then went on to study global intellectual property trade and Chinese law at the National University of Singapore in 2013, before starting law at Santa Clara University.
By the time she was in her early 20s, Modern Luxury reports, she got a job at RPX Corporation as a patent specialist, but she quit after just 10 months after she was sexually assaulted.
She and Brin met at a yoga retreat in 2016, according to the Journal. She was, at the time, a patent lawyer and tech entrepreneur in her own right.
She was profiled on the cover of San Francisco magazine in June 2021 where she was heralded as a ‘change maker’, and told the interviewer how she overcame a childhood with a ‘bipolar schizophrenic father.

‘My dad was diagnosed with bipolar schizophrenia when I was 9, and my Chinese-born mom had only been in the US for two years when I was born. I had two unemployed parents for the majority of my childhood, so not only was there no money, there was almost no parental guidance, and as you can imagine with a mentally ill father, there was lots of chaos and fear.’
She told of growing up on food stamps and bussed tables when she was 12, and how the internet changed her life.
‘Without the internet I would probably still be in Oakland doing the same thing I was doing age 12’.
Musk was one of the first dot.com billionaires. He created the company that went on to become PayPal.
Nicole, in her interview, told of her desire to leave behind a legacy of ‘ideas’ and ‘helping the planet’.
‘I want my legacy to be one of ideas. I want it to be about evolving the human experience on this planet in an abundant way. I want it to be one of strength and love and compassion. I want it to be one of working hard, learning from one’s mistakes and of personal growth.’
Speaking about her early love life with Brin, she said: ‘I was living in a fairy tale. It was magical.
‘It seemed like we really could solve a lot of the world’s problems with tech then.’
But she soon realized that they weren’t a perfect fit after their marriage in 2018. They separated in December 2021, and filed for divorce in June 2022.
